Council of EU Foreign Ministers may meet in Kiev to demonstrate solidarity with Ukraine

The head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, said that the council of EU foreign ministers could meet in Kiev to demonstrate solidarity with Ukraine. He announced this following a meeting of the heads of the European Foreign Ministries, RIA Novosti reports.

According to him, the United States informed the European Union about the content of the future response to Russia's proposals, and also consulted with the European Union.

Further negotiations with Russia will depend on the decision of Moscow after receiving answers from the US and NATO.

Earlier, Borrell said that there was no threat of an immediate Russian attack on Ukraine - such conclusions were made by the foreign ministers of the EU countries after negotiations with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.

On the night of January 24, the US State Department allowed certain employees of the US Embassy in Kiev and their families to leave Ukraine. Borrell saw little reason to evacuate the diplomats, but a number of European countries, including Germany, Austria, France and the UK, have begun work to bring personnel home. Australia also started the evacuation.
