The United States decided not to impose sanctions against Putin yet due to technical difficulties

The White House will not impose sanctions on Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to CBS, citing sources, this decision was made due to the fact that such a move would create "technical difficulties."

The day before, White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki, when asked whether restrictive measures against the Russian leader are being considered, said that the United States does not give up any options when considering possible sanctions against Russia in the event of an escalation around Ukraine.

The source clarified that US sanctions against a particular person will make it difficult for him to visit other states and coordinate with partners.

Restrictive measures against Putin were announced by the head of the White House, Joe Biden. Prior to this, the Washington Post wrote that Republican Rep. Jim Banks submitted the “Putin Accountability Act” to the US Congress. The black list includes Russian President Vladimir Putin, his press secretary Dmitry Peskov, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, head of the Russian Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin, chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation Ella Pamfilova and others.

Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said in response that the sanctions for Putin "absolutely not painful."
