This was announced by Yan Novikov, General Director of the Concern VKO Almaz-Antey. According to him, as part of the modernization program, by the end of 2022, 12 enlarged centers of the unified air traffic management system and three special centers will be created and re-equipped in Kaliningrad, Kamchatka and Crimea.

According to him, the concern with cooperation enterprises in 2022 is completing a large-scale project for the construction, reconstruction and equipping of enlarged centers of the Unified Air Traffic Management System in Russia. "Considerable work has been done to integrate advanced domestic technologies of the defense complex into the civil sphere, thanks to which the organization of safe air traffic in Russia has been brought to a fundamentally new level," Novikov said.

He noted that Almaz-Antey supplied equipment and performed work in the interests of the air navigation system of Russia in the amount of about 100 billion rubles. "With the commissioning of the St. Petersburg enlarged center, we have completed work on the enlargement of the EU ATM centers in Russia," Novikov said.

According to him, from January 26, the transition to direct air traffic control from the workplaces of the automated air traffic management system from the newly created enlarged center began.

"Commissioning of the St. Petersburg consolidated center is a landmark event. The concern has fulfilled its obligations under the program for the enlargement of air traffic control centers in Russia. In addition, more than two hundred Russian airports are equipped with reliable domestic equipment," said Deputy General Director for Air Navigation System Products and Dual Air Appointment Concern VKO "Almaz - Antey" Dmitry Savitsky.

The EU ATM of Russia serves an area of ​​over 26 million square kilometers. The length of the routes is more than 800 thousand kilometers. For these purposes, 95 air traffic control automation systems, about 800 units of surveillance equipment, as well as about 2,000 units of navigation and landing aids have been installed.
