Moldova (bbabo.net), - The General Mayor of Chisinau, Ion Ceban, has severely criticized the order of the Ministry of Health, according to which family doctors are allowed to do only 100 PCR tests per day. A letter with this order was sent to the heads of state medical institutions.

The mayor of the capital called this decision stupid in the midst of another wave of the coronavirus pandemic in the country and increased demand for testing from citizens.

- Ministry of the Absurd! Under such conditions, people have to go to private laboratories and pay out of their pockets up to 800 lei for a test, taking into account all the current price increases,” Ceban was indignant.

He also noted that the Ministry of Health does not listen to the recommendations of specialists. Thus, they advise organizing round-the-clock work of 3 state laboratories for conducting PCR tests, providing stocks of PCR tests, organizing and equipping PCR laboratories in each territorial medical association in Chisinau, ensuring a sufficient number of rapid tests and organizing mass testing of the population without referral family doctor.

In addition, according to experts, it is necessary to identify immediate solutions for the systematic PCR testing of medical staff.

Ion Ceban recalled that at the moment the load on hospitals is huge, and noted that experts recommend immediately using coronavirus departments for children in republican and regional medical institutions, since there are no more opportunities for hospitalization of children in the municipality. For adults, in case of force majeure, the municipality is ready to activate the COVID-19 department at Moldexpo.
