Russia - Trutnev instructed to strengthen the capture of stray dogs in the Far East

Russia (, - In connection with the frequent attacks of stray animals on people in the Far Eastern regions, it is necessary to strengthen the capture of stray dogs and their maintenance in shelters. Such an instruction to the heads of regions in the Far East was given by Deputy Prime Minister - Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Republic of Vietnam in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev.

According to him, stray dogs should be caught by companies that have already proven themselves in this area. In addition, liability measures for unscrupulous animal owners should be strengthened, Trutnev believes.

“The most important thing is to ensure the safety of people. At the same time, all actions must be carried out within the framework of humane treatment of animals. This is the responsibility of the authorities and the personal responsibility of the heads of regions. Everything necessary must be done so that people can walk the streets calmly and not worry about their lives.” and health, do not worry about your family and friends," said Yuri Trutnev.

In early February, the authorities of the Trans-Baikal and Primorsky Territories proposed to introduce a high alert regime in the regions due to the approach of the mating season for dogs: homeless animals began to actively gather in packs and show aggression towards people. Local residents were forbidden to feed stray dogs, as well as to walk their animals unaccompanied. Particular attention was paid to the problem after a seven-year-old girl died in one of the Trans-Baikal villages due to a pack of stray dogs.
