According to the publication, the chancellor's visit "is designed to focus efforts on preventing the threat of a Russian attack on Ukraine." It is noted that Scholz "wants to become more actively involved in crisis diplomacy." The publication also indicated that the conflict with the German and Russian media, namely the situation with the ban on broadcasting in Germany RT DE, and in Russia as a response to this decision - Deutsche Welle gives additional tension to Scholz's inaugural visit to Russia.
Earlier, the German Bild reported that the head of the German government allegedly seeks a "new beginning" in relations with Moscow. According to the publication's sources, Scholz is going to take the issue of building relations with Russia under his own control.
Later, Scholz himself emphasized that Germany was ready to defend Ukraine from Russian aggression. At the same time, he pointed out that Germany maintains a dialogue with Russia in various international formats.
