Putin: Russia and China are in favor of maintaining an open international trading system

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia and China are in favor of maintaining an open, transparent and non-discriminatory multilateral trading system based on the rules of the World Trade Organization. This was reported on the official website of the Kremlin.

“We have similar positions on issues of international trade. We stand for an open, transparent and non-discriminatory multilateral trading system based on the rules of the World Trade Organization. For restarting global supply chains,” Putin wrote.

According to the President of Russia, back in March 2020, the Russian side made a proposal to create an initiative on "green corridors" in trade, which would involve the elimination of any sanctions, political and administrative barriers.

He noted that the implementation of this initiative is a good help to overcome the economic consequences of the coronavirus pandemic.

Earlier, the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov said that Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping plan to discuss the dialogue between Russia and the United States at the talks in Beijing.
