State Department briefing interrupted by order to leave building

A briefing by the US State Department, during which its spokesman Ned Price answered questions from reporters, was interrupted by instructions to leave the building. The event will be broadcast on the agency's website.

When one of the journalists began to ask Price a question, an instruction was transmitted over a megaphone to "leave the building through the nearest exit." After a short pause, the journalist continued to speak.

"I guess we don't need to evacuate," Price said.

His interlocutor suggested that it was a false alarm. The briefing continues as usual.

Last November, three Ivy League universities were evacuated in the United States following reports of a bomb. In addition, a bomb threat was sent to the US Department of Health and Human Services.
