CNN: Biden 'warned' Putin about deploying US troops in Europe

US President Joe Biden said sending troops to Europe is fully consistent with what he previously told Russian President Vladimir Putin, CNN journalist Caitlan Collins said on Twitter.

“Biden told me that his decision to deploy troops is “totally consistent” with what he told Putin from the very beginning,” she wrote.

The President also stressed that "as long as he [Putin] acts aggressively," the United States will do everything to convince its NATO partners in Eastern Europe that Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty, on collective security, is their sacred duty, quoted American leader journalist.

On January 29, US President Joe Biden announced that US troops would soon be deployed to Eastern Europe and NATO countries. As the Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, Mark Milley, explained, the president ordered to increase the readiness of the US military in case the allies need help.

According to CNN, Biden officially approved the deployment of additional US troops in Eastern Europe. The Russian Foreign Ministry said that the transfer of the US Armed Forces to Europe will only increase military tensions.
