Russia - Putin discusses Ukraine and security guarantees with Johnson

Russia (bbabo.net), - Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Wednesday, February 2.

"A fairly detailed exchange of views was held in the context of the intra-Ukrainian crisis and the situation to ensure long-term legally fixed guarantees of the security of the Russian Federation," the Kremlin's website reported.

In particular, during the conversation, Putin noted the unwillingness of NATO to adequately respond to well-founded Russian concerns. As noted in the report, the point is that the alliance is hiding behind references to the so-called "open door" policy, which contradicts the fundamental principle of the indivisibility of security. The Russian leader also drew attention to Kiev's chronic sabotage of the Minsk agreements, the Kremlin said.

Earlier, the assistant to the head of the Russian state, Yuri Ushakov, reported that the leaders also planned to touch on some issues related to bilateral cooperation. Ushakov noted that it "is at a very, very low level."
