Russia (bbabo.net), - The Russian Ministry of Defense is switching from purchasing a small amount of the latest self-loading pistol "Udav" to its serial deliveries to the Russian Armed Forces.
With reference to its source in the country's military-industrial complex, RIA Novosti reported that over the next three years the army will receive more than 3,000 of these pistols. According to the source, the main shipments will take place this year. Even the approximate amount of contracts is called - 300 million rubles. This, in general, confirms the information about the purchase of a large batch of "Boas", which was previously announced by the Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces Oleg Salyukov.
They plan to acquire new small arms in two versions. For the bulk of the officers, they will purchase the basic version of the pistol - 6P72. And its version in the 6P72-1 modification with a removable silencer, combined visible and infrared target designators will go into service with special forces units. It is already known that, for example, the special forces of the Central Military District deployed in the Novosibirsk and Samara regions will receive the Udav for the first time before the end of this year.
This 9mm self-loading pistol was developed at the Central Research Institute of Precision Engineering. During tests, it showed stable operation and high ballistic qualities in various conditions, including extremely low (up to minus 50 degrees Celsius) and high temperatures (up to plus 70). "Boa constrictor" will be equally effective both in the sands of the Sahara and in the ice of the Arctic.

It has a relatively small mass - 780 grams unloaded, 980 - curb. The magazine capacity is 18 rounds, which is almost twice as much as that of the Makarov pistol. The Udava uses Russian 9x21mm cartridges. Its effective range is up to 100 meters. A bullet fired from this pistol pierces bulletproof vests and helmets of the second class of protection from 75 meters. According to experts, there is no more powerful pistol of this caliber in the world. The designers managed to solve an almost insoluble problem - in dimensions and weight, not much exceeding the Makarov pistol, they achieved a shot power that is much higher than that typical, say, of a much larger and caliber Colt.
Another undoubted advantage of the "Boa" is that the shooter does not need to count the number of bullets fired. The special design of the magazine of this pistol allows you to visually and by touch determine how many cartridges are left in it.
