The UK has begun evacuating embassy staff in Ukraine due to the increased threat. The diplomatic mission will remain open, but will not be able to provide consular assistance to all Britons who remain in the country, according to the British Foreign Office.
British citizens in Ukraine must leave the country immediately, the Foreign Office has announced. The government said people should leave now "while commercial means are available" and advise against travel to the country.

According to the BBC radio station, there were no specific threats to the diplomats. Following the United States and Great Britain, Austria announced its readiness to evacuate diplomats.
Earlier, President Joe Biden advised US citizens to leave the country due to fears of a "Russian invasion".
"We continue to reduce the number of staff at the embassy in Kiev. We call American citizens who remain in Ukraine to leave the country immediately. We cannot predict the future. But the risks are quite high," said US national security adviser Jake Sullivan, who quoted by RIA Novosti.
