Mironov reduced the number of personal meetings after the hospitalization of the leaders of the Communist Party and the Liberal Democratic Party

After the hospitalization of the leaders of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and the Liberal Democratic Party Gennady Zyuganov and Vladimir Zhirinovsky, the chairman of the Duma faction "Fair Russia - For Truth" (SPZP), Sergei Mironov, reduced the number of personal meetings and switched many events to videoconferencing mode. The politician announced this.

“Given the insidiousness of the new strain, Omicron is forced to take additional security measures: I try less to hold personal meetings, and more to hold events online, via video link,” Mironov said.

At the same time, he noted that in general he works as usual - in the building of the State Duma, but puts on a protective mask.

He also wished a speedy recovery to Gennady Zyuganov and Vladimir Zhirinovsky

“Whatever our disagreements, we are doing a common and important work in parliament. Therefore, I expect that they will return to work soon," Mironov said.

Also, the leader of the fair Russians admitted that he feels good, noting that he does not complain about his health due to a healthy lifestyle.

“I don’t smoke, I don’t drink, I go in for physical education, I try to walk more, to be in the fresh air,” Mironov said.

Earlier, the head of the press service of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Alexander Yushchenko, announced the hospitalization of party leader Zyuganov. According to him, the politician made such a decision "taking into account the epidemiological situation" and the medical interventions suffered by the politician in recent years.

On February 9, it became known about the hospitalization of the head of the Liberal Democratic Party, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, due to infection with the omicron strain of coronavirus. The Ministry of Health reported that Zhirinovsky was hospitalized on February 2. The chairman of the party concealed that he contracted COVID-19 for fear that information about this would cast doubt on the ranks of the supporters of vaccination.

Thus, the leaders of two of the five parliamentary parties are in the hospital.
