Turkey accuses West of creating panic in Ukraine

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu believes that the West's statements about the "invasion" of Russia lead to an increase in panic and a deterioration in the economic situation in Ukraine.

“Unnecessary statements should be avoided. Claims that Russia will invade [Ukraine] today will cause unrest in Ukraine tomorrow. It also causes economic damage to Ukraine and its national currency,” he said in an interview with TRT.

According to the head of the department, this picture is not true.

“Is there tension? There is. Is there a possibility of conflict? There is. But there is no need to voice it with the help of megaphone diplomacy, as some Western countries do,” Cavusoglu added.

He also said that Moscow does not refuse negotiations with Kiev through the mediation of Ankara.

Since the fall of last year, the Western media, as well as in Ukraine, have been claiming that Russia is allegedly preparing a “large-scale invasion” of Ukraine. In Moscow, such allegations have been repeatedly rejected.
