Stepanova set a record among Olympic champions in cross-country skiing

Russia (bbabo.net), - Russian Veronika Stepanova has achieved a unique achievement: she became the youngest Olympic champion in cross-country skiing history.

On Saturday, our team, which was represented by Stepanova, Yulia Stupak, Natalia Nepryaeva and Tatiana Sorina, won gold in the relay. Veronika became the champion at the age of 21 years 39 days, surpassing the record of the three-time winner of the Games, our compatriot Yulia Chepalova, who won gold medals at the 1998 Olympics in the 30 km distance at the age of 21 years 60 days.

We add that the youngest champion of the Games in men's cross-country skiing is the representative of Norway, Johannes Klebo. At the previous Olympics in Pyeongchang, Klebo finished first in the sprint race at the age of 21 years and 114 days.
