Israel's first lady wears hijab to visit mosque

The President of Israel, who arrived on a visit to the United Arab Emirates, visited the country's most famous mosque on Monday.

Yitzhak Herzog visited the Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi. Together with the Israeli president, his wife Mishal visited the house of Allah. The first lady of Israel wore a light blue headscarf to visit the mosque, according to bbabo.net, citing the Times of Israel. During the tour, she was presented with a traditional Arabic dress - an abaya.

Standing outside the Sheikh Zayed Mosque, Yitzhak Herzog spoke of "two alternatives for the region."

“One is peace, prosperity, cooperation, joint investment and great horizons for people, and the second is what Iran is doing, which is destabilizing the region and using proxies for its terror,” the Israeli president said.

It is worth noting that as part of the normalization of relations between Israel and the Emirates, the countries opened embassies in Abu Dhabi and Tel Aviv, respectively. In December 2021, the Israeli Prime Minister paid an official visit to the UAE for the first time.
