Russian Ambassador Kelin said that London does not intend to improve relations with Moscow

The UK does not intend to look for anything to improve relations with Russia during the visit of Foreign Minister of the Kingdom Liz Truss to Moscow. This was stated by Russian Ambassador to Britain Andrey Kelin on the air of the Russia 24 TV channel.

British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss arrived in the Russian capital on February 10 for talks on the situation in Ukraine with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

“Here I am in London and everything I hear from official lips, even the pre-flight statement of Liz Truss, which she makes, this statement, its content does not indicate (about the desire - ed.) To look here (in Moscow) for anything, to think about something,” Kelin said.

According to him, London "does not want to think, wants to put pressure," as Washington does. At the same time, the ambassador noted that now there is no need to take British policy seriously.

“And the policy that was in the 90s - serious reflections on the future of European security, on a common European home, this is where we need to return, starting from our legacy that we have,” Kelin said.

Truss said last week that Moscow's claims of no intention to invade Ukraine are "false" and "the depth of Russia's attempts to destroy and threaten Ukraine is clear."

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Russia is in favor of an equal dialogue with the UK, and London should change the tone of rhetoric towards Moscow.
