Russia - The active phase of the exercise Allied Resolve-2022 has begun

Russia (bbabo.net), - The joint operational exercise of the armed forces of Belarussia "Allied Resolve-2022" on February 10 enters an active phase. The military personnel of the two countries will work out the tasks of suppressing and repelling external aggression during a defensive operation, as well as countering terrorism and protecting the interests of the Union State within 10 days.

On February 9, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, General of the Army Valery Gerasimov, arrived in Belarus to check the readiness of formations and military units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation to participate in the joint Belarusian-Russian exercise.

The military operations of the exercise will unfold almost throughout Belarus: at the Domanovsky, Gozhsky, Obuz-Lesnovsky, Brest and Osipovichsky training grounds and the airfields of Baranovichi, Luninets, Lida and Machulishchi. At the same time, the Ministry of Defense reminds that the exercise is strictly defensive in nature.

- At the heart of the plan of the check and its second stage is one of the possible options for the development of the military-political situation with the aggravation of international contradictions that could lead to the unleashing of aggression against the Union State. Among other things, an analysis of the development of events that took place around our country in 2020, unfriendly messages and unreasonable concentration of troops, as well as the development of a crisis situation in the Republic of Kazakhstan, was taken into account, - said the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces - First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Belarus for issues of checking the readiness of the reaction forces of the Union State on the territory of the Republic of Belarus, Major General Viktor Gulevich.

The number of military personnel and the amount of equipment used in the exercise, falling under the scope of the Vienna Document 2011, do not exceed the parameters defined by it, which are subject to notification. At the first stage, 12 SU-35s, the Pantsir-S anti-aircraft missile and cannon division were relocated to Belarus, and air defense units armed with S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile systems arrived from the Russian Far East in early February. The combat crews of the anti-aircraft complex of the Eastern Military District have already taken up combat duty for air defense as part of the Unified Regional Air Defense System of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation at the training ground in the Brest region.

- The main advantage of the complex is the range of destruction of air targets - up to 400 kilometers, - explained the commander of the anti-aircraft missile division, Major Mikhail Ursov. - Up to 12 launchers can be on the cockpit control, which allows firing up to 6 air targets. Any aerodynamic target is an easy target for such a complex. It is impossible to make any anti-missile maneuver.

At a meeting with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on February 3, Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu assessed the coordinated actions: the transfer of a large group of troops from Russia to the western borders of the Union State as part of the Allied Resolve 2022 exercise was brilliant.

More than 150 journalists from Belarus, Russia and other countries expressed their desire to cover the exercise, Major Inna Gorbacheva, an official representative of the Belarusian Defense Ministry, said.

- For the first time bloggers will join them. Representatives of the media will be able to follow the course of the exercises at three training grounds: Gozhsky, Polessky and Obuz-Lesnovsky.

On February 12, at the Gozhsky training ground, correspondents will see combat in the ambush area by combat guard units with enemy reconnaissance. A spectacular stage will be the conduct of mobile defense with the support of aviation and artillery, the conduct of a counterattack by a combined-arms reserve in the enemy's penetration area.

The next press tour is scheduled for February 15 - in the Polessky area, the military personnel of the two countries will launch the Tochka tactical missile system, which will launch a group missile attack on two objects of a mock enemy at a distance of up to 70 km.

The final stage on February 19 will be actions at the Obuz-Lesnovsky training ground: conducting a defensive battle at a maneuverable line of defense, followed by withdrawal from the battle to an operational defensive line, defeating the enemy, conducting a counterattack with a tactical airborne landing behind enemy lines with the support of aviation and artillery at all stages of defensive combat.

The second stage of the verification will be completed on February 20, after which the military units and subunits of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will leave the territory of Belarus. However, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, at a meeting with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on February 3, announced: in 2022 Belarussia will hold more than 20 joint exercises:- We have more than 20 events ahead of us this year, including the Vostok-2022 exercise. During them, as the name implies, the troops will be concentrated on the eastern borders. By your decision, the Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces of Belarus will participate in these exercises, a large group. Now they have to move 10 thousand kilometers there.
