Russia - The Russian Orthodox Church called for the participation of religious figures in the examination of projects on spiritual values

Russia (bbabo.net), - The Russian Orthodox Church considers it necessary to give representatives of all traditional religions of the country the right to participate in the development and public control over the implementation of state policy in the field of spiritual and moral values.

This was stated by the head of the Patriarchal Commission on Family Affairs, Protection of Motherhood and Childhood, Priest Fyodor Lukyanov, in an interview with TASS. He clarified that his initiative was coordinated with the Legal Department of the Russian Orthodox Church.

Earlier, a draft of the foundations of the state policy for the preservation and strengthening of traditional Russian spiritual and moral values was submitted for public examination. The project implies, among other things, the formation of a system of public control over the activities of government bodies with the involvement of civil society institutions.

And so Fyodor Lukyanov, on behalf of the Russian Orthodox Church, noted that "it is in our power to support the creation of such a document that would become a kind of code of honor, morality, conscience and respect for the dignity of a person and society." From his point of view, in order for this process to be objective, it is necessary to provide the broadest powers to various institutions of civil society by introducing their representatives into the system of public control, including representatives of traditional religions.

According to Lukyanov, it is worth concretizing and supplementing paragraph "c" of Chapter 16, indicating by whom and how the control will be carried out. This clarification "will remove possible fears and misunderstandings," the priest concluded.
