The Pentagon announced the imminent dispatch of additional US troops to Romania, Poland and Germany

The US will soon send additional military forces to Romania, Poland and Germany. This was during a briefing for journalists, said Pentagon spokesman John Kirby.

According to him, forces are sent to the region "not forever" and the decision is "a reaction to the current situation." Kirby emphasized that the sending of forces was necessary in order to support the allies in Europe.

“These forces do not intend to fight in Ukraine. They will provide reliable defense for our NATO allies,” the Pentagon spokesman explained.

In recent months, statements have been made in the West and Ukraine in particular about Russia's allegedly impending "invasion" of Ukraine. In turn, the Kremlin more than once directly denied any plans to attack Ukraine, on the contrary, pointing to the possible preparation of a military operation in the Donbass by Kiev.

Earlier, CNN reported that US President Joe Biden officially approved the deployment of additional US troops in Eastern Europe. According to the WSJ, the Pentagon ordered several thousand more soldiers to be put on high alert, in addition to the 8,500 military who received similar orders last week.
