Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said he did not know whether the response of the United States and NATO, published by the Spanish El Pais, is genuine, RIA Novosti reports.

“I honestly heard that these materials were leaked through the Spanish media, but I read these documents in the original, so I honestly did not compare the documents we received from the US and NATO with these leaks. I don't know, I hope it's the same," Ushakov said.

Earlier, El Pais reported that it had received the full text of the confidential response of the United States and NATO to Russia's proposals on security guarantees.

The main difference between the responses of the US and NATO, the newspaper notes, is that Washington is also ready to discuss the principle of indivisibility of security, approved by the OSCE. Based on this principle, Moscow argued that the possible entry of Ukraine into NATO would affect its security. In its document, the United States indicated that it does not share this Russian point of view, but is ready to discuss "interpretations" of this principle.
