Macron and Putin discussed Lavrov's message on the indivisibility of security

The French Foreign Ministry said that Paris took note of the message of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on the topic of the indivisibility of security and looks forward to a rich dialogue with Moscow. It is reported by TASS.

“France has taken note of the letter from the Russian Foreign Minister, as well as the assessments of Russian President Vladimir Putin, and is set to continue a rich dialogue on the proposals submitted by the Russian Federation on January 26,” said a representative of the French department during a briefing.

French President Emmanuel Macron has already discussed this issue with Russian President Vladimir Putin during telephone conversations on January 28 and 31, the French diplomat said.

On the eve of the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia appeared the text of the head of department Sergey Lavrov to colleagues from the United States, Canada and other countries on the subject of the indivisibility of security, sent on January 28.

Earlier, El Pais reported that it had received the full text of the confidential response of the United States and NATO to Russia's proposals on security guarantees.

The main difference between the responses of the US and NATO, the newspaper notes, is that Washington is also ready to discuss the principle of indivisibility of security, approved by the OSCE. Based on this principle, Moscow argued that the possible entry of Ukraine into NATO would affect its security. In its document, the United States indicated that it does not share this Russian point of view, but is ready to discuss "interpretations" of this principle.
