Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov commented on the appearance in the Spanish El Pais of the full response of the United States and NATO to Moscow's proposals for security guarantees in Europe.

“We have not yet published (our version of the document - ed.). I don't want to comment on it. It's up to you to refer to El Pais or the Spanish management, at least not to us. We saw (publication - ed.), of course. Yesterday, the president gave a general conceptual assessment of the answers received regarding fundamentally important issues for the Russian Federation," Peskov said.

At the same time, Peskov could not answer the question of how the documents are evaluated in the Kremlin.

“We don’t know, and it’s not our business here to guess on coffee grounds. I leave without comment,” the spokesman said.

Earlier, El Pais reported that it had received the full text of the confidential response of the United States and NATO to Russia's proposals on security guarantees.

A diplomatic source confirmed the authenticity of the published material.

In December last year, the Russian Foreign Ministry published drafts of a treaty between Russia and the United States on security guarantees and an agreement on measures to ensure the security of the Russian Federation and NATO member states. In the document, in particular, the parties undertake to eliminate all existing infrastructure for the deployment of nuclear weapons outside their territory, exercise restraint in military planning and not take actions that affect each other's security.

On January 26, the US and NATO handed over to Russia their written responses to Moscow's proposed security guarantees. In statements, they outlined their principles in negotiations with Moscow.
