The EU has figured out how to resist China

The European Union, together with the United States, began to develop a new strategy to counter the influence of China. It implies setting standards for advanced and environmentally friendly technologies. The Financial Times writes about this, referring to the draft EU proposals in this area.

According to the publication, Brussels and Washington intend to work together on a monitoring system for new standards. It is noted that the EU and the US are concerned that China has been successful in lobbying key organizations such as the International Telecommunication Union and the International Electrotechnical Commission to set technology standards.

According to the Financial Times, the parties plan to hold regular meetings of representatives of the Trade and Technology Council, which will be a response to Beijing's new strategy "China Standards 2035". China, according to the authors of the article, seeks to establish international norms in the field of fifth generation communications (5G) and artificial intelligence.

Earlier it was reported that the European Parliament was concerned about information security because of China. According to MEP Philip de Man, some Chinese companies located in the EU should be blacklisted due to threats to European information security.
