The Eurasian Economic Commission is 10 years old

The transition to a qualitatively new institutional level of development of integration in the Eurasian space is marked by the creation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, which celebrated its tenth anniversary on Wednesday.

Analyzing the first significant anniversary in the life of the permanent supranational regulatory body of the international structure, which began functioning in February 2012, Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the EEC Board, made a special address.

In it, he stressed that the signing of the Declaration on Eurasian Economic Integration on November 18, 2011 by the Presidents of the Union State and Kazakhstan on November 18, 2011 was a key step towards the start of a new stage of integration construction. It was in it, the head of the board stated, "that the main directions of practical interaction, the formation of the regulatory and legal framework of the Customs Union, the Common Economic Space and, on their basis, the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union" were determined. By the way, later Armenia and Kyrgyzstan joined the EAEU.

Over the past years, according to him, the EEC, as the regulatory body of the union, has been fulfilling the tasks of developing proposals in the field of further development of integration based on the principles of ensuring mutual benefit, equality and taking into account national interests, the economic feasibility of decisions made, as well as openness, transparency and objectivity.

During this period, Myasnikovich recalled, thanks to "the strong-willed decisions of the heads of state and government of our countries, as well as the well-coordinated work of the commission, ministries and departments of the member states, it was possible to ensure high rates of development of integration processes," and continuity in the work of the commission became the key to the progressive implementation of the union's agenda .

During the existence of the EEC, the appeal says, the legal and economic foundations for the development of integration processes in the EAEU have been created. Strategic directions for the development of Eurasian economic integration until 2025 have been adopted, accession to the union of new members, observer states has been ensured, freedom of movement and social guarantees for workers are ensured, an agreement on pension provision has entered into force, more than 50 technical regulations and more than 12 thousand international standards are in force, the single market of goods for more than 180 million consumers is successfully functioning.

The Head of the Board expressed confidence that the accumulated potential, the highest professionalism of the members of the EEC Council, the EEC Board, officials, and employees of the Commission would continue to meet all the requirements of the time and improve the quality and efficiency of Eurasian integration.

As you know, the decisions of the EEC, whose headquarters are in Moscow, are binding on the territory of the EAEU member states.
