Director of the Museum of Air Defense Forces Yuri Knutov on the air of Sputnik radio commented on the exercises with the use of coastal missile systems (BRK) "Bastion" of the Black Sea Fleet (Black Sea Fleet). He noted that the Bastion complexes are part of a complex of a powerful defense system, in front of which any potential enemy is in a vulnerable position.

“The enemy is well aware that the Bastion complex ensures 100% destruction of almost all existing ships. Aircraft carriers require multiple missiles. The presence of ground installations ensures the protection of the Black Sea from any enemy. Now a stationary version of this complex is being created,” said Yuri Knutov.

He noted that Russia also has a system of “no-access zones”, which includes the Ball and Bastion missile defense systems and the S-400 air defense system, as well as the Iskander operational-tactical missile systems, which will not allow the creation of an offensive grouping along Russian borders.

During the exercises in the Crimea and the Krasnodar Territory, Bastion divisions marched to designated areas to carry out training missile firing at a sea target, and also worked out the replenishment of ammunition and the withdrawal of complexes from under attack. more than 40 units of military and special equipment were involved.

Earlier, the General Staff of the Russian Federation announced its readiness to strike at violators of the maritime border.
