Representatives of the LPR and DPR spoke about possible scenarios for the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

According to representatives of the self-proclaimed Luhansk and Donetsk People's Republics (LPR and DPR), if Ukrainian troops decide to attack from the southeast, the main blow could fall on the Svetlodarskaya Bulge and the Debaltsevo direction. As a result, the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk republics will be cut off from each other, Izvestia reports.

The official representative of the people's militia of the LPR, Ivan Filiponenko, said that provocations by the Ukrainian authorities could soon begin. He said that according to intelligence data, a staged terrorist attack with the death of people could be organized at one of the industrial facilities with dangerous industries on the territory of Ukraine, the blame for which would be laid on the "separatists".

Deputy Chief of the People's Militia of the DPR Eduard Basurin noted that the accumulation of Ukrainian military forces continues in the Donetsk, Gorlovka and southern directions. However, it is not known whether to expect an offensive from one of them or from all at once.

It is noted that the situation in the republics themselves remains calm, local residents do not believe in the onset of war. At the same time, they are all aware of the pulling of troops to the line of demarcation.

Earlier, the LPR announced that Ukraine was preparing paratroopers to be thrown into the rear.

On the territory of Donbass, from July 27, 2020, additional measures to control the truce have been in force, agreed by the participants of the Contact Group to resolve the situation in eastern Ukraine. As a result, offensive and reconnaissance and sabotage actions, the use of aircraft and other actions are prohibited.

The armed conflict in the south-east of Ukraine began in 2014, when the inhabitants of Donbass did not recognize the new government after the coup. In 2015, the leaders of the Normandy Four agreed on measures to implement the Minsk agreements of September 19, 2014. Ukraine adopted a law on the special status of Donbass in 2014, but it has not yet entered into force.
