Russia - Additional beds for patients with COVID-19 deployed in Kamchatka

Russia (bbabo.net), - Additional beds are being equipped in the Kamchatka Territory for the treatment of patients with coronavirus. According to the authorities, the region is now registering the maximum number of cases of a dangerous virus - over 350 per day.

“Based on this, last week we deployed an additional bed fund on the basis of the Kamchatka Regional Hospital. A large number of hospitalizations were recorded over the weekend, so this morning we deployed another 40 beds,” the press service of the regional government quotes Andrey Kuzmin, head of the Ministry of Health.

In total, 546 beds have been deployed in the medical institutions of the region for patients with covid.

Due to the difficult epidemiological situation, several social institutions switched to a closed mode of operation at once, including the Paratunsky nursing home, the Elizovsky psycho-neurological boarding school for children and young people with disabilities, and the Elizovsky psycho-neurological boarding house. It is currently not possible to visit these establishments.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health added that in recent weeks the vaccination campaign has noticeably gained momentum. On average, about 260 Kamchatka residents are vaccinated against coronavirus every day, and up to 400 on some days.
