Russia - Zakharova: US and British Actions

Russia (bbabo.net), - The current actions of the US and the UK are classic war propaganda. This opinion was expressed by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova in her Telegram channel.

War propaganda is prohibited by the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights adopted by General Assembly resolution 2200 A (XXI) on 16 December 1966. But Washington and London are always true to the main principle - the hands must be untied, the diplomat noted.

According to Zakharova, the task of the pact, adopted at the height of the Cold War, was to protect human rights and lead humanity away from the abyss to which the military rhetoric of NATO countries was pushing it in those years. The Soviet Union, and then the Russian Federation, as well as dozens of countries around the world voluntarily abandon this threatening practice. However, Washington and London do not deprive themselves of the opportunity to bring a match to a haystack.

What is happening now is war propaganda in its purest form, Zakharova stressed. Aggressive rhetoric covers the supply of arms to Ukraine, the dispatch of military instructors there, the holding of NATO military exercises near the borders of the Russian Federation, the creation of an offensive combined-arms infrastructure of Western states.

“The United States and Great Britain have taken out a tool that they have kept for a good half a century, and now they are brandishing it like a club, supporting controlled hysteria through CNN, Bloombe, British tabloids, influencing public opinion in their countries,” Zakharova said.

She added that everything is ready for Washington's hand to press the "Reload" button invented by former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Earlier, Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, said that the escalation of tension around Ukraine could subside in the near future, but the West would continue to pump it up with weapons. It is likely that when the détente starts, the West will appropriate the laurels for themselves, saying that it was the West that stopped the "inevitable Russian aggression", saved Ukraine by imposing sanctions against the Russian Federation. At the same time, the pumping of Ukraine with weapons on a scale that has not been seen before is alarming. And this is being done in opposition to what Moscow is now trying to offer the West.
