Russia (bbabo.net), - The EU states, which have not taken seriously Moscow's proposals for security guarantees, want to return to dialogue through the mediation of Ukraine. This was stated by a member of the State Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption Adalbi Shkhagoshev, commenting on Kiev's request to organize a meeting with Russia and other member states of the Vienna Document.

Shkhagoshev explained that Ukraine's interest in the exercises taking place on the territory of Russia is only a formality. However, the OSCE members had previously taken the Russian proposals lightly and would like to return to the negotiations, "without counting on the United States." At the same time, Ukraine, which proposes a meeting, acts as a kind of intermediary, RIA Novosti reports.

The parliamentarian noted that right now, given the persistence on the part of Russia, these countries understood the seriousness of Moscow's intentions to ensure global security and that the Russian Federation would not back down. "The OSCE is looking for a reason to return to the conversation again and issue some more substantial response to Russian requests," Shkhagoshev concluded.

It should be reminded that on February 12, Vladimir Putin had three important telephone conversations with his colleagues - the Presidents of the United States, France and Belarus. It was about long-term guarantees of Russia's security and the situation around Ukraine, including those related to provocations about alleged plans for a Russian invasion of the territory of this state. In the near future, Moscow will respond to US and NATO responses on security assurances.
