Poroshenko's party offered to borrow weapons from Ukraine's partners

The party of the former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko "European Solidarity" proposed to amend the law on the country's territorial defense, allowing to borrow weapons. This was reported by the press service of the party.

“We also asked to consider the position of deploying a program like Lend-Lease. In order for Ukraine to be able to borrow weapons. And it will be much larger. And not only by planes. But I hope that from next week we will also have military assistance by road,” Poroshenko explained.

The proposed changes will also allow all territorial defense fighters to have weapons and increase funding for local government entities in order to provide territorial defense units with "premises, rooms for storing weapons, equipping personnel and creating real opportunities for repulse."

Alexei Polishchuk, Director of the CIS Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, suggested earlier that some of the weapons supplied to Ukraine by Western countries could go to the black market.

The Ukrainian authorities are actively purchasing decommissioned foreign weapons, as well as receiving military assistance from Western countries. NATO has been sending military instructors to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine for several years. On February 6, The Mirror reported that more than 100 British special forces were sent to Ukraine to train the Ukrainian military.

Recently, Canada and Latvia also sent their soldiers there, and earlier it was reported about the presence of military personnel from the United States, Lithuania and other states in the country. The United States and NATO sent several shipments of weapons to Ukraine - 80 tons of military cargo, including 300 Javelin anti-tank missile systems.
