The Bulgarian Islamic Academy announced the results of the year

The Bulgarian Islamic Academy posted a video report on the meeting of university teachers, at which acting. Rector Ainur Timerkhanov summed up the activities of the university in 2021 and outlined tasks for 2022.

Timerkhanov noted that January 15 marked the one year anniversary of his acting rector of the academy, in connection with which it was decided to hold a final meeting with the participation of all teachers of the academy.

Among the significant results in 2021, the rector named the fact that the BIA for the first time successfully passed the licensing control of educational activities by Rosobrnadzor. In addition, last summer the second graduation of masters of Islamic sciences took place and the competition for admission to the academy increased.

Last year, BIA applied for accreditation for a new master's program in theology. “In December 2021, we received confirmation from Rosobrnadzor that our application was accepted for consideration on the merits. We hope that in the next 2-3 months the package of documents will be considered and a positive decision will be made,” Timerkhanov shared his plans for 2022.

In the near future, the rector is also considering the possibility of opening a direction in linguistics at the academy, which will be developed jointly with the institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS). “We are at the stage of studying the possibility of opening either a basic department or a scientific laboratory together with the Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences,” he said.

According to Timerkhanov, this will provide graduates of the Bulgarian Islamic Academy with broader competitive employment opportunities.
