The Ministry of State Security of the Luhansk People's Republic announced the prevention of a terrorist attack near the monument to the Warriors-Internationalists.
"The duty unit of the Ministry of State Security of the LPR received a message from a resident of Luhansk about the discovery in the square of Friendship of Peoples in the trash bin of an object that looks like an improvised explosive device, the department said in a statement, - During the survey of the area, MGB officers discovered and neutralized an improvised explosive device" .
The bomb consisted of a mobile phone, an electric detonator, two TNT blocks with a total weight of 400 grams and striking elements - pieces of metal fittings.
The Ministry of State Security believes that "the explosion of an explosive device should have been carried out during a rally on February 15 dedicated to the day of memory of combatants who performed their duty outside the Fatherland."
The department also notes that "the method of laying and the composition of the IEDs indicate the possible involvement of Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups of special services aimed at destabilizing the socio-political situation in the LPR."
Earlier, the LPR reported the death of a member of the LPR people's militia as a result of sniper fire from Ukraine.
