UK and Ukraine discussed steps to counter Russia

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss agreed on joint steps to curb the aggression attributed to the Russian Federation, and also discussed the decision of the State Duma of the Russian Federation regarding the recognition of the self-proclaimed DPR and LPR. This was reported on the Facebook page of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

“Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba and UK Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Commonwealth Affairs and Development Liz Truss agreed on the next steps for Ukraine and the UK to counter Russian aggression. In focus: an assessment of the dynamics of the security crisis created by Russia, the next steps of Kiev and London to deter Russia from further aggression against Ukraine, UK support for Ukrainian initiatives in the OSCE, the destructiveness of the actions of the Russian parliament aimed at recognizing certain areas of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions as part of the Russian Federation, ”- said in a statement by the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.

They noted that Kuleba and Truss also discussed preparations for the establishment of a new trilateral format of cooperation between Ukraine, Poland and the UK.

Earlier, deputies of the State Duma supported the draft resolution developed by the Communist Party of the Russian Federation on an appeal to President Vladimir Putin with a request to recognize the independence of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics.
