US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, during a telephone conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, said that there are still opportunities to resolve the crisis around Ukraine. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

"U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, in a telephone conversation on Tuesday with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, said there was still room for a resolution to the Ukraine crisis," the U.S. State Department said in a statement.

Earlier it became known that Lavrov, in a conversation with Blinken, noted the inadmissibility of aggressive rhetoric. The minister also stressed the need to continue joint work, which the presidents of Russia and the United States had previously agreed on.

Prior to this, the last time Lavrov and Blinken communicated on February 12. Then the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry told the Secretary of State that the Western information campaign against Russia could eventually lead to a war in the Donbass. In addition, Lavrov pointed out that the United States did not agree to implement the key provisions of the security guarantees offered by Russia.
