The firing positions are not occupied. What is happening on the Russian-Ukrainian border

In none of the areas of the hypothetical Russian "invasion" of Ukraine, the Russian Armed Forces have created strike groups. This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov. At the same time, the Western media continue to talk about the preparation of a “Russian attack”. Military observer Mikhail Khodarenok understood what was happening on the border between Russia and Ukraine. According to the head of the military department of Ukraine, if an offensive was being prepared from Moscow, then "the Russians would form strike groups." Aleksey Reznikov added that in this case, “the preparation process would definitely take not a day or two.”

In turn, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Alexei Danilov said that "the number of Russian troops is not increasing in the form in which many people portray it today." “Do they have maneuvers there - yes, they do, but they had them all the time. This is their territory. They have the right to flicker tanks to the left and right there. Is it bad for us? Yes, it is unpleasant, but for us it is not news. If this is news to someone in the West, I'm sorry," Danilov said.

However, European and American politicians and the media continue to claim that Moscow is preparing an "invasion". A number of Western embassies in Ukraine were evacuated.

At the same time, in reality, there is no preparation for a “Russian invasion” of Ukraine.

The grouping of the Armed Forces in the western regions of Russia is currently located in the so-called "concentration areas". This is approximately 150-200 km from the state border.

Before the start of a hypothetical operation, in accordance with the standard plan for the creation and deployment of strike groups of troops to go on the offensive, the troops must go to the "source areas" - this is about 20-40 km from the line of contact. If the invasion is scheduled for February 16, as the Western media claims, then Russian troops should already to deploy in battalion and company columns, and several ground artillery ammunition has been laid out on the ground.

The occupation of starting and firing positions by units and formations of missile forces and artillery intended for participation in fire strikes is not noted. The operational and strategic rear services necessary for conducting a large-scale regional military conflict are not deployed.

Technical support units and formations have not been redeployed to the areas of alleged hostilities, and in the event of war, a mass failure of weapons and military equipment is quite possible. The forward and rear hospital bases are not deployed.

The main burden during a hypothetical operation against Ukraine would fall on the units and formations of the Aerospace Forces of the RF Armed Forces.

In this case, it is necessary to talk about the so-called resource, which is usually allocated to formations and associations of the Russian Aerospace Forces for an operation. For example, in a purely quantitative sense, we can talk (and this is just a start) about 30 regimental sorties (of course, for each regiment).

In practice, this means that the required number of aviation weapons and fuel, military equipment, food, and other materiel must be concentrated at forward airfields and permanently based airfields of the Aerospace Forces.

It is impossible to hide such preparations from modern reconnaissance means. If all these preparations are not observed by the local population and the intelligence means of the NATO countries, then there is every reason to believe that Russia is not preparing for war.

It should also be noted that until very recently, a number of world media assumed that the invasion of Ukraine would be carried out, including from the territory of Belarus. For these purposes, it was allegedly planned to use the grouping of the RF Armed Forces, concentrated in this republic to conduct the Allied Resolve-2022 exercises.

However, the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Major General Igor Konashenkov, has already announced the return of formations and military units of the RF Armed Forces to their permanent deployment points.

“As the combat training activities are completed, the troops, as always, will march in a combined way to the points of permanent deployment. The units of the Southern and Western military districts, having completed their tasks, have already begun loading onto rail and road transport and will begin moving to their military garrisons today. Separate units will make marches on their own as part of military columns,” Konashenkov said.

Earlier, President Vladimir Putin approved the concept of drafts of Russia's response to the United States and NATO on security assurances in Europe presented by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

Sergei Lavrov noted that the text contains a warning to the West about the inadmissibility of endlessly dragging out the discussion of the issue of security guarantees. At the same time, he said that "there is always a chance to come to an agreement with the West" and Russia plans to increase the activity of these negotiations.
