The head of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, said on his Facebook that he supported the appeal of the State Duma of Russia to President Vladimir Putin to recognize the independence of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics.

“Our fellow citizens and compatriots live in the Donbass, who consider Russia their homeland. The people of Donbass expressed their will back in 2014, they defended their right to be part of the Russian world, to be themselves with weapons in their hands, ”Aksenov said.

Earlier, the State Duma of Russia sent an appeal to President Vladimir Putin about the need to recognize the self-proclaimed DPR and LPR.

The majority of deputies voted for this decision. Kiev has already stated that the recognition of Donetsk and Luhansk by Moscow, Ukraine will consider Russia's withdrawal from the Minsk agreements.
