Russia and the CIS (bbabo.net) - The State Duma during the plenary session voted for the draft resolution submitted by the Communist Party of the Russian Federation on the recognition of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics. The document will be sent for approval by the President of the Russian Federation.

As speaker Vyacheslav Volodin emphasized, “the deputies believe that the recognition of the DPR and LPR will create grounds for ensuring security guarantees and protecting the inhabitants of the republics from external threats, as well as for strengthening international peace and regional stability.”

Volodin noted that the United States and its European allies are escalating the situation by supplying weapons to Ukraine. Kiev, in turn, continues not to comply with the Minsk agreements. All this poses threats and risks to the lives of Russian citizens and compatriots living in the DPR and LPR.
