A Chinese man has been sentenced to a year in prison and a fine for producing and selling counterfeit souvenirs with the symbols of the 2022 Winter Olympics. According to him, this is the first criminal case in China for copyright infringement of the mascots of the Beijing Olympics.
"Recently, Beijing promptly investigated and initiated a case on the production and sale of pirated copies of toys-mascots of the Olympics and Paralympics Bing Dundun panda and Xue Rongrong lantern, the case has already been sentenced.
