Russia - Expert: Doping scandals

Russia (bbabo.net), - Doping has always been in sports, but in recent years, scandals have become especially frequent and loud, especially with accusations against Russian athletes. According to Gleb Kuznetsov, head of the EISI Expert Council, the origins of this phenomenon should be sought in the recent past.

"Let's remember that the sports competitions of the powers are the history of the Cold War, when two ways of life, two ways of thinking, two ideologies and two blocs fought on the Olympic fields, at the world championships, at the chessboard, and this was important", - he recalled on Thursday at the "round table" dedicated to the information wars at the Olympic Games.

“In fact, all these doping scandals, which are becoming more, are not sports scandals, these are attempts to exclude Russia from the elite club of great powers, to finish the Cold War, so to speak. Like, you no longer have a red flag, The block is no more and there is no great sport either, and if you continue to compete, we will put your place in a different way," he said.

Another reason for doping scandals is the desire of the West to emphasize the "fundamental depravity of the Russians," the expert believes, to prove to themselves and others that Russia is behaving dishonestly, ugly, and it is not worth dealing with it.

"To say, 'Well, since you treat us like that, we won't speak' is pouring water on the enemy's mill, fixing their final and irrevocable victory," the head of the EISI Expert Council believes.

Kuznetsov also believes that in the near future the situation with doping control will change. At least due to the development of laboratory diagnostics. For example: by expanding the use of more objective and less humiliating blood tests for athletes.
