Stepanova became the youngest Olympic champion in the history of cross-country skiing

Russians Yuliya Stupak, Natalya Nepryaeva, Tatyana Sorina and Stepanova won the 4 x 5 km relay on February 12. This is the first award in this discipline for Russian skiers since 2006.

Stepanova is 21 years and 39 days old. The previous achievement belongs to Yulia Chepalova, who won the first gold at the 1998 Olympics in the 30 km race at the age of 21 years 60 days.
