The Russian embassy in Serbia was outraged by the “totally false and Russophobic” article by US Ambassador to Pristina Jeffrey Hovenir about the situation in Ukraine, the Russian diplomatic mission said on Facebook.

The department noted that “even the leading Washington propagandists of the Cold War period would envy the “degree of reality distortion” with which the author of the article talks about the situation in Ukraine.

“I would like to ask - is there really no remorse? To use the words of our Minister Sergei Viktorovich Lavrov: when we read such things, we are ashamed of the authors,” the diplomats wrote.

According to them, some "odious passages" cannot be explained by anything other than complete ignorance of the facts or the intention to mislead readers. Thus, the diplomats pointed to the groundlessness of the thesis about Kiev's compliance with the Minsk agreements, which is given in the article. The embassy stressed that it is the obstruction by the Kiev regime of the agreements approved by the UN Security Council that hinders the achievement of peace in the Donbass, and also recalled that NATO countries uncontrollably and irresponsibly transfer weapons to Ukraine under the pretext of the “Russian threat”, which Kiev uses every day against the civilian population in the southeast of the country.
