Russia - Vladimir Putin named the priorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs

Russia (bbabo.net) - Vladimir Putin pointed out the need for a tough fight against illegal migration, extremism and violation of law and order should be punished by expulsion from Russia and a ban on entry in the future. The President stated this on Thursday, speaking at an expanded meeting of the collegium of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In addition, he urged to form in society the rejection of boorish behavior on the roads, because many people still die in road accidents.

According to Putin, the entire system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs operates steadily and reliably. He noted that last year the tendency to reduce the number of registered grave and especially grave crimes, including with the use of weapons, continued. "Crime in public places has decreased, there are positive developments in a number of other important areas," the president said.

Among the priorities in the work of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, he called the offensive fight against crime. “Let me remind you that last year the Federal Law “On Police” was amended to expand the powers of police officers, including when they receive reports of incidents, they can immediately inspect residential premises and vehicles,” the president said and noted that it is necessary effectively use these opportunities for the prompt disclosure of crimes in "hot pursuit". At the same time, Putin instructed to take into account the fears of human rights activists, which "are not without certain grounds." "I want to emphasize this - the rights and freedoms of citizens must be guaranteed," the head of state said.

Putin also set the task of drastically increasing the level of crime detection. "We need consistent, more effective work on all types of crimes that pose a threat to our society," he said. Increased attention should be paid to the fight against corruption, economic crimes, but not to create obstacles for honest business, Putin instructed. "Any inspections, actions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in relation to entrepreneurs must be justified," the president stressed.

In Russia, there is an increase in the number of cybercrimes. Losses and damage are borne by both domestic companies and pensioners, large families, people with disabilities. "Criminals have nothing sacred. Only tear money," Putin said. He instructed to improve the procedure for interaction between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and financial organizations, telecom operators and other structures working in the digital space and in the field of telecommunications.

An acute problem is illegal migration and related crimes. Putin stressed that Russia welcomes everyone who comes here to live, study and work, while observing the laws of the country and respecting culture and traditions. "Such foreign citizens, and above all our compatriots coming from abroad, should be able to freely and without bureaucratic delays to issue all the necessary documents," the president said. But the toughest measures should be taken against illegal migration, Putin stressed.

"Any manifestations of extremism, violations of law and order, illegal labor activity should serve as the basis for the rapid adoption and implementation of decisions to expel such people from Russia and ban them from entering our country in the future," the president said.

According to him, last year in Russia the number of crimes related to extremism increased by more than a quarter. "It is important to timely assess the risks of possible extremist manifestations and, on this basis, develop effective preventive measures. Particular attention should be paid to neutralizing attempts by extremists and various radicals to use the Internet," Putin said.

He noted that law enforcement officers need to actively involve the media, civil society structures, youth associations, and representatives of traditional religions in the prevention of extremism.

In addition, Putin called on law enforcement officers to prevent the involvement of teenagers in crime and proposed the creation of a unified system of social support for children prone to delinquency. The President noted that the number of crimes committed by teenagers is decreasing, but this is not a reason to reduce efforts. He stressed that cases of attacks on educational institutions, violence against children, as well as their involvement in drug trafficking and extremist actions are not isolated facts. “We need to look for new, modern approaches, we can’t act according to patterns, we need to see the problems, the difficulties of every young person,” the president said.

Strong measures are needed against illegal migrants and violators - expulsion and entry banSpeaking about the problem of road accidents, Putin noted that, despite the ongoing criticism of the State Traffic Inspectorate, there is more order on the roads in Russia, and fewer accidents. Thus, in 2021, there were 3.1% fewer accidents, and the number of dead and injured decreased by 5.8% and 4.2%, respectively. But many people still die in road accidents. "The death rate is high in accidents caused by drunk drivers, as well as as a result of collisions with pedestrians. It is important to continue work to improve the culture of behavior on the roads," Putin instructed.

Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev in his report announced a decrease in the number of crimes in the Russian Federation over 10 years. However, with the pandemic came new crimes related to falsifying vaccination certificates and PCR tests. "900 criminal cases have been initiated related to the illegal sale and use of medical documents on vaccination or PCR testing, 2.5 thousand sites selling fictitious certificates have been blocked," the minister said. In total, in 2021, according to him, the damage from crimes in Russia amounted to more than 560 billion rubles.
