Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a series of meetings to prepare his message to the Federal Assembly. The meeting of the head of state on economic issues is broadcast by Russia 24.
“This is a large, comprehensive and thorough work, in which a number of important issues must be taken into account,” Putin said.
He stressed that this is a joint work of the president and a number of departments.
“The President announces the decisions that we are preparing, says what and how to do to achieve the set goals, but this is our joint task,” Putin said.
The meeting began with his proposal to analyze the overall macroeconomic picture and the forecast of economic dynamics for the next three years.
Earlier, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that Putin's address to the Federal Assembly will take place in early 2022, preparations for the event conceptually began in December.
In his last address to the Federal Assembly, Putin paid special attention to socio-economic problems, promised to give a harsh and asymmetric response to any provocations against Russia, drew attention to the problems caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and announced a number of new payments for Russians. The appeal to the Federal Assembly lasted 1 hour and 20 minutes.
