Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said during a speech in the Bavarian Parliament that the democratic world should stand next to Ukraine to protect the principles of democracy and security, the Ukrainian Internet portal Obozrevatel reports.

According to Klitschko, a line of global confrontation between democracy and authoritarianism runs through Ukraine.

“If the world “surrenders” Ukraine, it will reverberate throughout Europe!” – stressed Klitschko.

Vitali Klitschko takes part in the Munich Security Conference, where global topics are discussed - the pandemic and the climate crisis, as well as the defense of democracy. On Friday, February 18, he will also meet with a US Senate delegation and European politicians.

Earlier, the mayor of Kiev announced the creation of a commission to prepare for the evacuation of city residents in the event of Russia's "invasion" of Ukraine.
