Parliamentarians to discuss unification of motor vehicle liability in Belarussia

Another step towards the unification of legislation on insurance of civil liability of car owners on the territory of the Union State will have to be taken literally in a week by the legislators of the two countries.

At a meeting of the commission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarussia, which will be held on February 25, its participants, according to the website of the PS, "agree on the procedure for joint work on the preparation of a model legislative act "On compulsory insurance of civil liability of vehicle owners."

In addition, the deputies will discuss measures to reduce the minimum period of compulsory insurance of civil liability of owners of vehicles registered abroad in Belarus to five days.

The solution of the issues under consideration, according to observers, is aimed at improving and unifying the procedure for insuring motor third party liability, to further ensure equal rights of citizens and uniform favorable conditions when traveling through the territory of the Union State.

By the way, allied parliamentarians have already proposed the unification of the OSAGO procedure for citizens of the Union State. And during the 60th session of the Parliamentary Assembly, the commission on legislation and regulations was instructed to organize the development of an appropriate draft model legislative act.

Parliamentarians, representatives of the Ministry of Finance of Belarus, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, the Bureau of Transport Insurance, the Russian Union of Motor Insurers, as well as experts in the field of legislation and law will take part in the upcoming meeting in the Belarusian capital, news portals state.
