As previously reported, due to the formation of cracks due to subsidence of the soil, the residents of the first and second entrances of the affected house were evacuated last Saturday, and a local emergency regime was introduced on the spot.
So, to date, a total of 217 residents have been evacuated, of which 26 are children. There are 104 people in temporary accommodation provided by local authorities.
- Now the most important thing for us is to ensure the complete safety of people, - said the head of Sochi Alexei Kopaygorodsky. - We are waiting for the official conclusion of the expert organization, but there is already a decision of our headquarters - the evacuation of residents of all entrances. There can be no half-measures when it comes to the threat to life and health, the safety of people. By the end of the day, the remaining residents will be evacuated.
According to local resident Raisa Glebova, the shrinkage of the house continues, and the cracks are increasing.
- I have been living in this house since its commissioning, - she said. - We even appealed to the prosecutor's office in connection with the inaction of our management company "REU-17". The problems began even earlier, in 2001, and the wear and tear of the house was 72 percent, but it has not yet been recognized as emergency. We believe that he began to crawl due to the fact that a house was built higher.
Now the specialists of the group of companies "Alliance of Security" are monitoring the installed beacons in the first and second entrances. Today, these devices will be installed throughout the house and will continue to record data daily, employees of the construction department of the Sochi administration say.
After the complete evacuation of the residents of the house, the experts will begin complex geological and geodetic studies, and conduct additional geophysical surveys. Soil samples will also be taken, the concrete strength under the base of the house will be determined, visual and instrumental examination will help to identify changes in the structural elements of the building. The licensed organization will determine the damage.
Now the property of the residents is guarded around the clock by police officers. Rescuers and representatives of public utilities are on duty at the scene.
