Moldova - Ghimpu: I was offered a bribe of 400 million lei, but I refused

Moldova (bbabo.net), - Honorary Chairman of the Liberal Party Mihai Ghimpu claims that during his career he was offered bribes more than once to solve a number of problems. In particular, Ilan Shor's trustee offered him 400 million lei, reports nokta.md

In the program "Cutia neagra" on tv8, he said that in exchange for money he was supposed to form a majority, but did not specify what it was supposed to be and what, in fact, it consisted of. When that was, he didn't say either.

“If I say, it will continue - the matter is clear ... I was offered to solve the problem, but I said: get out. They thought that I would take the money and were going to arrest me, but everyone knew that I was not going to take it. They still thought that maybe I would take them, the goal was to arrest me, but not to get rich or solve the problem,” said Mihai Ghimpu.

The program also discussed issues related to the problems facing the country, including the gas crisis and the bills received.

Asked if the gas bill is a problem for him now, the honorary president of the Liberal Party said that he can pay his bill, given that he has been in business since 2002.

"I also have a business started in 2002 when I was not a Member of Parliament, I left Parliament in 1998 and returned in 2009."

As for the procedure for refusing the compensation offered by the government, Ghimpu called it “the green leaf of the quinoa”. According to him, the only solution was not to sign a new contract with Russia for the purchase of gas, but to offer compensation only to socially unprotected segments of the population.

“This is a deception of citizens, I said that citizens should not be put in such a situation, the prices are very high. The state had to take a loan and draw a line with the Russians, with poverty, so that people pay less for gas and pensions are higher. It is necessary to take out a loan, as Romania and other countries do, and give compensation only to vulnerable segments of the population, but not to everyone. We have a state that has plunged a knife into our hearts, and we thank you,” Mihai Ghimpu added.

Ghimpu criticized the government, which he said "keeps us under the influence of the Russian Federation."
