The EU announced the imminent conclusion of negotiations on the Iranian nuclear deal

The Iranian nuclear deal, which has been negotiated for more than three years, is close to completion. This is reported by The New Arab, citing a senior EU official.

“I think the agreement will be ready next week. Now we have a text on the table that is very close to what will become the final document, ”the official quoted the publication as saying.

Representatives of Russia, China, Great Britain, France, Germany, the European Union and the United States are participating in negotiations to develop an agreement under which Iran will renounce further development of nuclear weapons.

Earlier, the US administration announced that it had decided to restore the previously canceled exemptions from the sanctions regime against Iran's nuclear program. According to a White House official, the decision was made to allow third parties to participate in nuclear non-proliferation and security projects in Iran "due to growing concerns about non-proliferation."

In 2018, Donald Trump announced the US withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which was concluded between Iran and six countries of the world to cancel the Iranian nuclear program in exchange for the lifting of sanctions. Iran was supposed to allow IAEA inspectors to its nuclear facilities, and Western countries were to step remove sanctions from Iran.

In July 2019, Iran announced the start of the uranium enrichment process above the JCPOA limits.
