Russia (bbabo.net) - The European Union should pay attention to protecting the rights of Donbas residents instead of talking about Russia's "dark past". This opinion was expressed in his Telegram channel by the Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky, commenting on the statement of the head of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen.

At the Munich Security Conference, the EC leader accused the Russian Federation of trying to undermine the European security architecture, as well as dangerous thinking, which, according to her, grows out of the country's "dark past".

Slutsky noted that Ursula von der Leyen with such statements surpassed US President Joe Biden in trying to create an alternative reality.

He recalled the latest data, according to which about 36 thousand people have already arrived in the Rostov region from the DPR and LPR. "A question for the head of the European Commission - what are these people running from?" the politician noted. "From a free and democratic Ukraine to Russia with its "dark past"?"

From the Donbass, Slutsky continued, they are fleeing from Ukrainian militants, nationalist battalions and shells that say "to the children of Donbass." He expressed the opinion that European politicians should pay attention, first of all, to the observance of the rights of the inhabitants of the DPR and LPR, the main of which is the right to life. "And not to engage in dubious predictions," - added the head of the committee.

The parliamentarian stressed that the real threat to the security architecture of the continent is the practice of "color revolutions, Maidans, followed by the West pumping weapons into its wards." It is always up to Russia and its allies to deal with the consequences of such destructive policies, he said. That is, those countries that the collective West accuses of all sins.
